Armed police in Northwest China's Gansu province completed a winter camp training in the Gobi Desert from Jan 2-6.

They traveled 970 kilometers during the five-day camp, with 150 kilometers of that distance on foot.

The training also focused on a number of combat programs.

Organizers said the harsh natural conditions, including the extreme cold helped with the training.
